Carinity Education – Rockhampton has an opportunity for a Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to join the team on a casual basis. The Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing, plays an important role in working collaboratively with students and staff, striving to ensure that the social and emotional environments within the school are positive, respectful, and calm.
What do I need for this role?
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children) check essential
- Certificate III (or higher) in either Youth Work, Education Support, Teacher Aide or relevant discipline or willingness to work towards and relevant work experience
- Experience in providing Youth Work, education, and support services to marginalised young people is advantageous
- Ability to relate to youth at risk and to assist with behaviour management, to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
- Knowledge of IT based school management systems (TASS or similar) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage student behaviour including the ability to provide sensitivity to cultural and social issues which may affect young people
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to be trained in First Aid
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence (Car and LR preferred)

Carinity Education – Rockhampton is an independent special assistance school providing expert, coordinated support and educational opportunity to secondary school aged young people disenfranchised from mainstream schools for Grades 7 through to year 12 students.
The school is made up of two campuses. The senior school (Grade 9-12) is located at 46 Dawson Road Glenlee, and the junior school (Grade 7 and 8) is located at 16 School Street Mt Chalmers. The Mt Chalmers campus is opening in Term 2 of 2023.
