Catholic Chaplain – Central Area Local Health Network (CALHN) 

Part time 0.6 FTE, 3 year Fixed-term contract

The Catholic Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual and pastoral care at the Central Area Local Health Network, in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. This position is based at the Royal Adelaide and The Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, but there may be some requirement to work at other CALHN sites.

The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the CALHN Manager Wellness and Spiritual Care, hospital administrators, staff, and chaplains of other denominations to develop and implement a strategy to meet the current and emerging spiritual and pastoral care needs of the patients, their families and staff at the hospital. 

The Catholic Chaplain will provide spiritual and pastoral support to the sick, elderly, vulnerable, mentally ill, traumatised, and palliative care patients and their families.

Completion of or willingness to undertake the Ministry Formation Program and completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent, is required. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Catholic Pastoral Ministry is also required.
