Catholic Chaplain – Northern Area Local Health Network (NALHN) 

Part time 0.4 FTE, 3 years Fixed-term contract

The Catholic Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual and pastoral care at the Northern Area Local Health Network, in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. This position is based at the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals.

The successful applicant will work in collaboration with NALHN Spiritual Care Manager, hospital administrators, staff, and chaplains of other denominations to develop and implement a strategy to meet the current and emerging spiritual and pastoral care needs of the patients, their families and staff at the hospital. 

The Catholic Chaplain will provide spiritual and pastoral support to the sick, elderly, vulnerable, mentally ill, traumatised, and palliative care patients and their families.

Completion of or willingness to undertake the Ministry Formation Program and completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent, is required. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Catholic Pastoral Ministry is also required.
