Adventist Senior Living is a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (North NSW Conference) seeking to enhance the physical, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of older Australians through Christ centred care. The organisation has three service offerings: residential aged care, home care and retirement living. 

The North Coast business unit includes an aged care facility at Alstonville, retirement villages at Alstonville and Tweed Heads. The organisation also has a growing home care service at within the Alstonville and Tweed Heads regions.  

THE OPPORTUNITY

Adventist Senior Living (ASL) is seeking a Chaplain to join our site at Alstonville on a permanent part-time basis. This position works 16 hours per week. 

The role reports to the General Manager North Coast and plays a valuable role in providing spiritual care, support and programs to residents, their families, staff and volunteers at Alstonville and Tweed Heads as needed. The role supports people from various denominational and spiritual backgrounds with a focus on relationships and helping people to address their spiritual concerns. 

SELECTION CRITERIA 

  1. Strong understanding of the Seventh-day Adventist religion
  2. Relevant qualifications and experience in chaplaincy or spiritual care.  
  3. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  4. Demonstrated commitment to a positive organisational culture.
  5. Current driver’s license.
  6. NDIS worker screening clearance
  7. Demonstrated skills and experience in: 
  • Working with people
  • Adhering to principles and values 
  • Relating and networking 
  • Presenting and communicating information 
  • Planning and organising
