Child and Adolescent Psychologist – Private Practice Rowe and Associates

Rowe & Associates is an expanding and leading child and adolescent private psychology practice in South Hurstville, NSW. We have been around for 15 years and have a strong reputation in the community and with our referrers.

We are looking for our next AWESOME team member who loves working with young children and their families.

Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in both the assessment and intervention of children with a range of presentations including behavioural difficulties, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety and learning difficulties.

Rowe and Associates is lead by Clare Rowe, a leading Educational & Developmental psychologist who appears regularly in the media and is consulted for her opinion on Family Court matters including international relocation disputes, educational issues and child mental health topics.

We are currently recruiting a FULL TIME or PART TIME role. 

For the right candidate we will consider an employee or contractor model.

Supervision – Full time employees receive weekly individual supervision with our clinical lead psychologist (fortnightly for part time employees). We also have fortnightly whole team meetings that regularly includes group debriefing and supervision.

Professional Development – As well as our in house training, supervision and clinical team days all full employees have a $1000 professional budget yearly.

Opportunities for non-face to face client work such as speaking events, mentoring junior psychologists, research and group therapy settings

To be successful you will have:

Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently

Experience in the administration of child behavioural and psychological

intervention strategies

Experience in the administration of child psychometric assessments

Sound knowledge of evidence based practice in psychology with children

Excellent report writing skills

Full registration with APHRA

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Administer client intake interviews, assess needs and provide recommendations for treatment plans.

Provide intervention for children and their families always adhering to an evidence-based framework.

Conduct formal assessments with children including psychometric assessments, formal interviews and screeners.

Diagnose, where appropriate, childhood developmental disorders according to DSM-5 including ADHD, ASD, Learning disorders.

Consult with, on average, 20 billable client hours per week.

Complete administration tasks including referrer letters, client session notes

and reports in a timely and professional manner.

Work on other projects as directed by Clare Rowe such as collaborating

with colleagues on group therapy sessions, parent education evenings or

marketing ventures, blog posts and development of client therapy resources.

Participate in team clinic meetings and individual supervision sessions

regularly.
