About the role:
Bethany is excited to advertise for the role of Child and Family Practitioner, based at The Orange Door outpost at Bellarine Community Health, Drysdale. This position is full time, ongoing, reporting to the Team Leader – Child and Family.
The Orange Door is an integrated intake pathway to family violence services and family services, keeping the whole family in view, with support tailored to each family member’s needs. The Orange Door brings together services as a partnership to support women, children and families and keep perpetrators in view.
The Child and Family Practitioner will work within a multidisciplinary team of practitioners to deliver high quality, integrated, safe and effective responses to Victorian women, children and families.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert skills in screening, triage and assessment of child and family vulnerability applying the Best Interests Case Practice and MARAM Framework’s to promote the safety, stability, wellbeing and development of children and young people.
- Work closely with other Hub practitioners as part of an integrated service delivery team to undertake screening and initial assessment for child and women victims of family violence, vulnerable children and families, and perpetrators of family violence.
- Use contemporary and evidence based approaches to identify family violence risk, child and family vulnerability drawing on specialist experience of working with vulnerable families.
About you:
- A degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification), or be working towards meeting the new mandatory minimum qualifications for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners. - Knowledge of child development/attachment, BICM, MARAM, and screening and assessment of child and family vulnerability.
- Knowledge of sector reforms, relevant legislation and ensures compliance in work practices.
