About the Position
We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Practitioner to deliver therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families impacted by Domestic and Family Violence. This role is to 30 June 2026 with possible extension, subject to continued funding.
This position is classified Level 5 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $93,860 – $98,112 plus super. We offer excellent salary packaging options which can significantly increase your take home pay.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Use a trauma-informed model to support children and their ecological networks to achieve better outcomes
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families impacted by DFV.
- Providing behaviour change interventions with young people who use violence.
- Providing one on one interventions that support safety, healing and skill-building in adult survivor’s and parent/child attachment, healthy relationships, and wellbeing with children, young people and their families

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Social Work, Human Services).
- Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
- At least 3 years’ experience delivering therapeutic interventions with children, young people and their families who have been impacted by trauma or have experienced abuse and neglect, or more than five years’ experience working in similar roles.
- Demonstrated specialist skills in working in family and domestic violence particularly working with both parents who use violence, and those experiencing violence.
- Demonstrated specialist skills in child development and/or youth work.
