About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Child and Family Practitioner to work collaboratively to ensure parenting strategies and child behaviour support is in line with appropriate child development and parenting capacity. The Pathways for Early Learning & Development (PELD) program is underpinned by the Abecedarian Approach Australia (3a) .

This role is part time 0.8FTE to 31 December 2024 with possible extension, subject to continued funding. This position is classified Level 4 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $82,046 – $88,288 pro rata plus super. We offer excellent salary packaging options which can significantly increase your take home pay.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertake 3a practitioner training supported by Act for Kids.
  • Support delivery of 3a playgroups and deliver 3a supported home visits.
  • Working with other professionals and agencies utilising an ecological model.
  • Work collaboratively to support families to achieve their goals around parent child interaction and 3a strategies.
  • Regularly attend and participate in case collaborations and stakeholder meetings.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (Allied Health, Social Work, Human Services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least 2 years’ experience providing intervention and support to families, young people and children.
  • An understanding of early childhood development, impacts of trauma, and support required for children with additional needs and engaging them in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in planning, implementing and reflecting on individual and group programs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with families and carers within a multidisciplinary team.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
