Your part in our UnitingCare Community team 

We are currently seeking to appoint a Child and Family Remote Support Worker to work as a part of our UnitingCare Qld Child and Family Team on our Remote Area Family Service servicing Longreach and surrounding areas on a Full Time basis.

In this role The Remote Area Families Service Support Worker will develop and implement programs to strengthen family relationships, implement early intervention and prevention activities to enhance and support community participation and family functioning, increase awareness of children’s wellbeing and have a holistic approach to supporting early childhood education in alignment with family and child support to nurture children to be fully prepared for learning and life. The Remote Area Families Service programs operate in Emerald, Mareeba, Mount Isa, Longreach and Charleville.

This is a remote service delivery role that is predominantly delivered in remote locations and resulting in approximately 60% of work hours spent travelling and overnighting with families to deliver support to families in rural and remote locations through mobile early childhood education and care services and information, advice and referral pathways.

What makes a difference for us? 

You will be a highly motivated and energetic person who has demonstrated experience working with young children, families and communities. In addition you will hold a Tertiary Qualification or working towards completion of Children’s services /Counselling/Community Services or similar, or be willing to study. Supplementing above you will also be required to hold a current driver’s license and Blue card.
