The Clinical Nurse Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician provides the coordination of child and youth mental health clinical services, including assessment, treatment and case management, promoting the health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and their families, within an integrated and collaborative recovery model of care that incorporates hospital and community components in different locations throughout the Torres and Cape region. This will include weekly travel to, and working within, Indigenous communities within the Torres and Cape region. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation including Health and Hospitals Network Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation and other relevant legislation
  • Ability to use clinical information and other IT systems relevant to the work area to support decision making and resource management to enable enhanced practice and patient flow.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in culturally appropriate child and adolescent mental health and Alcohol and Other Drug assessment, evidence-based interventions, case management and the formulation of a recovery planning.
