Child Contact Service Supervisor

Part time: 38-45 hours per fortnight, which includes a minimum of 2 weekdays and an alternate Saturday. Days can be negotiated

Relationships Australia WA is a leading provider of relationship support services to the West Australian community with professional and highly motivated staff.

We are offering a 6 months fixed term position, to be reviewed and possibly made the permanent role of Supervisor in the team at our Midland office. The Child Contact Service provides changeover and supervised contact services for separated parents who are in conflict or when there are parenting concerns. We work with families to foster safe and positive interaction between children and their parents, and to strengthen these relationships. Along with a co-Supervisor, you will create and maintain a safe and child-focused environment whilst overseeing the clinical and administrative work of the Child Contact Services. This position involves assessing client suitability and risk, and writing observational reports for the Family Court of WA. You will report to the program Coordinator and Manager, and oversee a small team of casual Family Support Workers. 

The current vacancy is 38-45 hours (to be negotiated) per fortnight. 

Skills, experience, and qualifications

Essential 

  • Significant experience in working with children and families
  • Knowledge and skills in working with people in crisis 
  • Knowledge and skills in managing people with challenging behaviours 
  • Availability to work weekends 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Family Law and/ or issues around separated families including children’s contact issues 
  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence 
  • Knowledge and understanding of child maltreatment and protection issues
