The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) is one of the three commissions within the Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ). The ASC works with 14 schools and 14 Education & Care Services across South East Queensland to ensure that we are providing strategic direction and supporting our schools and education & care services to provide an exceptional child safety program.
We are seeking a Child Safety Advocate who is committed to assisting in delivering the best possible outcomes to children and young people who require our support.
About the role:
- working closely with the Director of Child Safety you will oversee the ongoing implementation of the organisational strategy
- respond to relevant concerns and work closely with schools and ECS’ to manage reporting requirements, risk management and implementation of plans focused on the safety and support needs of children and young people
- provide guidance and support where children are subject to Child Safety interventions, eg. Child Protection Orders
- support the schools and services with the development and improvement of their CYRM strategies, annual reviews, committees, action plans reporting and risk management
- develop resource material, policies, procedures focused on assisting schools and services
- identify and create resources to effectively meet learning and development needs around child safety in our schools and services
About you:
- You will have technical knowledge relevant to child safety
- be able to work strategically, consider impacts of issues and show sound judgement
- be driven to achieve results
- be able to build productive, collaborative working relationships across a diverse community
- demonstrate professionalism, adopt a positive approach and show empathy when needed
- able to influence using your strong communication skills
- you will also hold relevant tertiary qualifications and be able to satisfy our pre-employment screen checks – Working with Children, National Police Check
