About the role  

We are looking for a part time Child Support Worker to join a multidisciplinary team of professionals that focuses on delivering a timely, coordinated, client centred and culturally appropriate response to women and children affected by family and domestic violence. 

Support Workers at Albany Women’s Centre provide a 24-hour service, offering a safe refuge and support services to improve the safety, resilience and capability of vulnerable women and their children experiencing family and domestic violence and prevent homelessness.  In this role, you’ll provide intake and assessment and crisis support, along with implementing case plans and safety planning for children.

This is a part time ongoing role based in Albany, initially working 30 hours across weekdays. From April 2024, the hours will reduce to 22.5 per week.

About You 

To be successful you will have:

  • Certificate level qualifications in social work, psychology or related discipline, or previous relevant experience.
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with children who have been impacted by family and domestic violence
  • A developed understanding of the dynamics of family and domestic violence
  • Experience providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients
  • Up to date knowledge of resources in the local area
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently across the local region on regular outreach

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

  • $70,196 per annum (pro rata) plus 11% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount
  • Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave per year
