Child Youth and Family Practitioner/Social Worker/Human Services Worker/Counsellor Accoras

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accoras Team

Accoras has been delivering mental health and wellbeing services for South-East Queensland children, young people and families for 30 years. In 2021, we launched our Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program, working with 7-17 year-olds in Logan/Beaudesert who have severe and complex mental health needs and reduced psychosocial functional capacity. Our CPSP is highly effective and we know we are making a real difference, so our team is growing to help us meet the needs of our local young people.

The Role

As a Child, Youth and Family Practitioner (CYFP), you’ll work with children and young people and their parents/carers/family in their home or school environment. You will support new referrals to the service and meet with children and young people to assess what is happening in all areas of their lives and develop a collaborative, holistic action and intervention plan to address their identified psychosocial needs. You will provide flexible and practical ongoing intervention, advice and support, assessing and responding to risks to client safety as required. Support may also include strategies and interventions targeted at parents/caregivers, to help them positively support the mental health of the child/adolescent. You will also make warm referrals to external services as required, and deliver group sessions.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2023, with contract extensions aligned to funding renewals. Working from our brand new office located in Yarrabilba, you will provide outreach support in client homes and schools within the Logan/Beaudesert region, with all work-related travel reimbursed.
