Your part in our UnitingCare Community team
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified individual to join the Supporting Children After Separation (SCaSP) team within our Ipswich office and outreach to our Logan office. The position is a permanent full time position. The SCaSP program offers individual therapeutic counselling and group work, to children and young people, aged between 5-18, who have experienced family separation.
As a part of this role you will be required to
- Undertake assessments and counselling to assist children and young people manage their relationships during and after family separation.
- Advocate for clients and provide suitable referrals if required.
- Utilise recognised counselling approaches to assist clients achieve their goals.
- Prepare written and oral reports relating to; client matters (e.g. case notes, referrals, case reviews) and statistical and administrative reports.
- Provide group work to children.
What makes a difference for us?
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling and eligibility for the relevant professional association.
- A current drivers licence.
- A current blue card.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
