JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  • Full Time Position (76 Fortnightly Hours). Fixed Term Contract Ending 30 June 2024.
  • $83,275 per annum pro rata + Super + Salary Packaging* (to increase your take home pay).
  • Located in Hindmarsh.

Together4Kids (T4K) is a specialist children’s therapeutic outreach service for children aged between 0-12 years old who are accompanying a parent/s into a Family Domestic Violence or Homeless Services. As a Children’s Therapeutic Worker you will be required to develop and provide an individual 10 session therapeutic program that responds to the child’s experiences of trauma.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (AQF Level 7) in Early Childhood, Social Work, Social Science, Human Services, Psychology, Health, Occupational Therapy or Midwifery OR a Certificate (AQF Level 4) or Diploma (AQF Level 5) in in Counselling, Infant Mental Health, Childhood Trauma and in delivering evidence based parenting programs with significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in working therapeutically with children.

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience in working with families in crisis or experiencing Domestic Violence and Homelessness.
  • Experience in understanding of the effects of trauma on infants, children and adults.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal communities, families and services.

 

What you will be doing

Your role will be to provide therapeutic programs to individual children and contribute to the development and facilitation of therapeutic group programs. You will also provide advice, information and professional development to the Domestic Violence and Homelessness Sector in child Focused Practice.

  • Undertaking intake interviews and child focused assessment processes of children and their care givers, referred to as Together4Kids.
  • You will be responsible for a caseload and providing customised therapeutic programs in client’s homes and in the community.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to develop clinical practice, therapeutic approaches, program methodologies, case management strategies, and establish effective and suitable referrals for families.
  • Facilitate group programs for children and contribute to the programs ongoing development.
  • Participate in learning and reflective clinical supervision with the Team Leader and Clinical Supervisor.
