About the role
The primary purpose role of the Clergy Health and Wellbeing Coordinator (Coordinator) is to build confidential and trusting relationships with Clergy to help them identify and address individual health and wellbeing needs and to engage effectively in ongoing formation from ordination through active ministry and lesser duties into retirement.
The duties of the Coordinator includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Developing effective strategies for engaging clergy in person-centred conversations to formulate achievable strategies for their individual health and wellbeing;
- Facilitating access to specialist services;
- Identifying and liaising with key stakeholders – OFCC Chair, Priest Retirement Care Coordinator, Clergy Remuneration System, Vicar General, Episcopal Vicars – Clergy and Regional, Deans;
- Sensitively communicating major health and wellbeing issues to the appropriate authority in consultation with the clergy member/person;
- Contributing to the formulation of the Strategy before ratification by the Archbishop;
- Remaining up to date with the following requirements as they pertain to clergy: professional accreditation, workplace health and safety and the safeguarding of children and young people;
- Administering the Clergy Health and Wellbeing budget;
About You
The ideal candidate should satisfy the following selection criteria:
- A personal commitment to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
- Current Working with Children Check clearance in NSW or ability to obtain
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a healthcare or related discipline
- 5 years of experience in pastoral or service orientated occupations
- Excellent personal communication skills
- High level writing skills
- Good understanding of the organisational structures applicable to the Catholic Church in Australia
- Computer and office management skills commensurate with the position
- Attention to detail and a well-ordered approach to work
- Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team
