The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Client Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team. As a Client Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide direct clinical services to individuals experiencing neurodegenerative illness and mental health challenges, contributing to their overall well-being and helping them navigate their emotional and psychological struggles. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in wellbeing counselling or therapy, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellbeing.

About the Role
Reporting to the Wellbeing Team Leader, the Client Wellbeing Practitioner will provide support to clients of THRF Group Parkinson’s and Stroke. This role includes:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments
- Developing personalized treatment plans
- Providing counselling and therapy
- Offering crisis intervention
- Conducting group therapy sessions
- Monitoring client progress
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Staying informed on mental health trends
- Advocating for clients

What to Expect
Supervision:
- Weekly/Fortnightly (depending on experience) clinical supervision for the first 6 months.
- Second 6 months access to weekly/fortnightly/monthly supervision.
- Clinical supervision is based on what you need and can include you shadowing your supervisor on their visits, them attending your sessions and reflective discussions etc.

About you
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven experience in providing mental health counselling or therapy, preferably in a clinical setting
- Experience delivering contemporary, evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions appropriate for people presenting with a neurological condition
- Demonstrated experience (including clinical placements) within the mental health / disability field
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated competency in the clinical management and treatment of a broad range of conditions and presentations, including psychogeriatric and neuropsychological conditions
- Demonstrated competence in delivering psychosocial assessment and focused psychological strategies
- Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically as well as well-developed problem- solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to improve personal and professional skills through self-directed learning and evaluation
