THE ROLE
As part of our diverse team based in Melbourne, you will help make a positive impact on someone’s life every day. You will feel great satisfaction knowing your talent and hard work has a purpose.
As a Clinical Advisor, you will be joining a high functioning and well-established team of like-minded colleagues. You will utilise your strong injury management experience and provide strategic support and guidance to the claims team. The role is responsible for providing peer to peer review to Claim Operations to assist with the strategic review of treatment requests / interventions on claims, aimed at recovery and return to work.
This will be a full time, 12 month max term contract position based in the Melbourne CBD office, with flexibility to work from home.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess surgery and treatment requests in a timely manner and in line with quality decision-making standards.
- Support the efficient and effective gathering of information to assist the Claims Operations team members to accept reasonable and necessary treatment in line with clinical Frameworks and address barriers to enable early return to work and recovery outcomes.
- Work closely with Case Managers to assess and influence areas of improvement regarding treatment management.
- Assist with the implementation of injury management, rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation initiatives
- Identify and assist Claims Operations team members to address barriers to enable early return to work and recovery outcomes and review of treatment strategies on long term claims
- Develop and maintain a strong working partnership with the Regulator
ABOUT YOU
- WorkSafe agent experience is preferred but not essential
- Allied Health qualification and experience is required
- Excellent understanding of the Victorian work cover legislation [relevant to medical and treatment intervention] and the associated regulations
- Experience in injury management and strategic claims management within a claims agent or insurance company setting
- Experience in collaborative peer to peer communications with treatment providers
- Highly developed stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven track record in achieving business objectives
- Excellent organizational ability
