JOB DESCRIPTION

Open Minds Sunshine Coast are on the lookout for a new Clinical Lead to join their team part-time. This is a key leadership position within our Sunshine Coast Team, providing oversight to the coordination and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based clinical services.

 

The Clinical Lead provides consultation, expertise, and guidance to a multidisciplinary team to inform and guide the delivery of high-quality intake, assessment and triage services for people who experience mental health issues and/ or distress and psychosocial supports.

 

Coordination and integration of services from local partner agencies is also an important part of the role. You will be actively involved in quality and strategic planning activities for clinical services at the centre, including implementation, monitoring and review of clinical governance policies and procedures. You will also identify and develop opportunities for service innovations and improvements.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Forging partnerships with regional stakeholders, including Hospital and Health Services, to craft referral pathways and enhance service integration.
  • Shaping clinical pathways, assessment protocols, and engage in local governance groups to ensure robust service delivery.
  • Collaborating with First Nations communities for culturally inclusive practices across services, fostering community involvement.
  • Leading integrated mental health service delivery for effective consumer support, guided by evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvements.
  • Upholding Open Minds’ Clinical Governance Framework, oversee incident reporting, maintain records, and manage risks to ensure safe and exceptional service provision.

 

About you:

Are you a committed and inclusive leader? We’re also looking for:

  • Tertiary level qualifications in an allied health discipline including social work, psychology, mental health nursing or occupational therapy.
  • Extensive experience as a Mental Health Clinician and registered with a discipline-specific board or association where applicable (e.g. Psychology Board of Australia, Australian Association of Social Workers).
  • Obtained experience in health service delivery within cross-cultural contexts, specifically involving First Nations People.
  • Established foundation in delivering trauma-informed and recovery-oriented services.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, including multitasking and meeting deadlines; highly developed communication skills in diverse team environments
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to staff and student placements. Board-approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia is desirable.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
