We would like to invite you to be a part of a workplace that not only helps you grow in your career but also encourages you to be the best version of yourself. If you are interested in developing your skills in EMDR, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, or treating adults with ADHD, we would love to hear from you. Whether you have previously worked in private practice or are just starting your journey, you will be supported to identify and pursue areas of personal and professional growth in an environment that fosters connection and support.
What we do differently:
Aside from the standard stuff you will find in a psych role on Seek (full-time admin support, exceptional salary, flexible work hours, etc..)
- The practice is closed for appointments between 12-1 pm every day to enable the team to connect and debrief over lunch
- Exceptional in-house PD often with guest speakers invited to present to the staff. Just some of the in-house PDs we have had this year:
- Dr Malinder Bhuller – Using RO-DBT with Veterans
- Dr David Preece – Understanding and Treating Alexithymia in Practice
- Roanne Young – Treating Adults with ADHD
- David Parrick – Navigating Transgender issues in Private Practice
- Ozgur Yalcin – Understanding theory and demonstration of EMDR, and Neurobiological and Psychosocial Factors Implicated in ADHD and BPD
- If you have an area you would like some more knowledge in, we will do our best to make it happen!
- We encourage clinicians to hone their skills in the therapeutic mode of choice and have regular EMDR-specific supervision and peer consultation.
- We value growth and are always working on ways to expand our services beyond one-on-one treatment. Input from our highly valued team ensures they grow, and we grow, together.
- We are a paperless practice so we will supply the hardware (iPads etc), so you can do your best work!
What our team says about ANIMA:
- Selena Ong – Clinical Psychologist: “At my previous workplace, I felt burnt out and isolated, and I really craved a safe space to debrief with like-minded colleagues. After joining Anima, I was introduced to more complex presentations, but I also learned ways to care for myself while grounding my patients. This has been an extremely satisfying period of personal and career growth.”
- Sarah Lucivero – Medical Receptionist: “Regardless of your position at Anima you are part of the family, and there is genuine care for your personal and professional development. From the moment I walked into the practice, it was obvious to me that family and connection are important values. It is a great team that provides a high standard of care for their patients, as well as the very interesting conversations at lunchtime when we all congregated around a large dining table – just like a family dinner.”
- Roanne Young – Clinical Psychologist: “After running my solo practice, it’s been a very happy new life knowing that admin is taking care of my patients and that I can knock on anyone’s door for a debrief, supervision or just a chat”.
If you think you may be the right applicant, we are interested to hear about:
- What kind of patient group do you enjoy working with?
- Are there areas of practice you are interested in developing?
- What do you enjoy doing outside of being a Clinical Psychologist?
- Are you passionate about teaching? Are you a board-approved supervisor?
If you think this could be you, please contact [email protected] with your expressions of interest. We look forward to welcoming you to our ANIMA family!
