Clinical Psychologists – Sunshine Coast

Buderim Private Hospital, Cooinda Mental Health Service

 

Buderim Private Hospital is offering Clinical Psychologists an exciting opportunity to join an innovative psychology partnership.  We are launching a new Private Psychology Practice on campus alongside our award winning Cooinda Mental Health Service. The model is based on up to a 50/50 split of working in a fully supported new private psychology practice and providing services to inpatient and day patients at Cooinda Mental Health Service’s as employees of Buderim Private Hospital. Cooinda Mental Health Service:

CMHS is a 33-bed inpatient unit plus Day Program that provides evidence-based treatments for the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders to inpatients and outpatients.  Psychologists are an important part of our multi-disciplinary team and work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Nurses, Exercise Physiologists, OT’s and Social Workers.  Our psychologists conduct psychometric assessments, provide individual and group psychotherapy and give input in weekly multi-disciplinary case reviews.

 

Cooinda Psychology Clinic:

Our new psychology clinic will house up to 8 Clinical Psychologists that will run their own private practices under the Cooinda brand.  Referrals will be generated from our own Consultant Psychiatrists, local GPs and organizations such as the Department of Veteran Affairs.  The clinic will have a full clerical support that will oversee Medicare requirements, referrals and bookings etc.

 

What we are looking for:

We would like to recruit Clinical Psychologists that meets the following criteria:

 

Registration and qualifications:

  • Full unconditional registration with AHPRA
  • Endorsement or eligible to be endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Eligible to provide psychological services with Medicare rebates
  • Formal qualifications in Clinical Psychology (Masters or Doctorate Degree)
  • Formal training in evidence-based psychological therapies including CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR, Mindfulness

Work experience:

  • Conducting psychometric assessments of adolescents (16+) and adults
  • Provision of individual evidence-based psychological therapy for a wide range of psychiatric disorders
  • Experience in facilitating inpatient and day patient therapy groups
  • Experience in treating PTSD, Complex Trauma, Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, Anxiety and Mood Disorders
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and record keeping skills
