JOB DESCRIPTION

At Wellbe Health Services, we are expanding and looking for outstanding clinical psychologists to join our clinics in Burwood or Parramatta. We are seeking motivated and professional psychologists to provide face-to-face and telehealth 50-minute sessions to people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Wellbe Health Services is a mental health practice focusing on people’s needs and clinician comfort to provide people with better access to psychological services in Sydney and Melbourne. Our vision for Australia is that mental healthcare should be accessible to anybody in need, irrespective of such barriers as financial circumstances, language, or location. Living by our mission, we now have 6 clinics across Sydney and Melbourne, with over 40 qualified clinical psychologists, psychologists, counsellors and social workers as part of the Wellbe team. We work with both private and bulk-billed clients. We encourage active participation by health providers and community organisations towards this goal through our own clinical service and partnerships. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Offering face-to-face counselling and psychological support to clients from our office space in Parramatta and/or Burwood
  • Provide psychological assessment, counselling, and consultancy across a range of presenting issues
  • Assess a client’s needs, risks, abilities or behaviour using various methods, including interviews and direct observation
  • Liaise with other professional agencies and referrers as and when necessary
  • Maintain compliance with professional practice standards and all relevant legislation
  • Maintain appropriate client records and documentation, and able to liaise with the administration support for filing and relevant billing

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant education and training, as well as experience of 3+ years as a psychologist 
  • An exceptional understanding of mental health conditions and previous experience in the mental health sector, including private and Medicare clients
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing, personal administration and interpersonal skills
  • Full registration or eligibility for full registration as a clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • The ability to obtain a Medicare provider number

Desirable skills

  • A broad understanding of multiple communities, including LBGTIQ+, ADF, veterans and refugees
  • Experience working with NDIS clients 
  • Five days a week availability
