About the role
The role of the Psychology Registrar Graduate program is to participate in the recently established Allied Health Graduate Program (AHGP) within our Mental Health Service. Psychology Registrars within this program will be guided by psychology educators in a protected learning role, rotating through different clinical settings (that may include our regional locations, Camperdown, Hamilton or Portland) during a 2 year program.
The AHGP will provide Psychology Registrars the opportunity to transition into clinical practice while also being supported to achieve Area of Practice endorsement (Clinical Psychology). The position is supported by an experienced Psychology Educator with a focus on; a positive learning environment, regular supervision, reflective practice, professional development and self-care.
The two-year psychology registrar program includes four six-month rotations within different multidisciplinary teams. Registrars will be allocated across 4 diverse clinical settings, locations to include our regional offices located in Portland, Hamilton, Camperdown and Warrnambool and will be determined as per the needs of the service.
This is a 2 year fixed term (80 hours per fortnight) position with a monthly ADO.
What you bring
- General registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course
- Eligible for enrolment in the Clinical Psychology registrar program (PsyBA)
- A desire to learn and build a career in Regional Victoria
- Established communication skills and attributes that demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning, collaboration, curiosity and care
- Hold a Victorian drivers licence as regional travel is an expectation
