Clinical Team Leader

The Role

We currently have a full time fixed term (12 months) opportunity to join our Health Services team in the role of  Clinical Team Leader Health (Wellness & Recovery). This position works under general direction from the Practice Manager, Health Service, to lead team members delivering programs and services in the Wellness & Recovery division of the Health Unit. The position provides effective daily oversight of service delivery to achieve and exceed performance and delivery targets that reflect the health and cultural needs of the community, with a focus on quality system and continuous improvement based management and person-centred care delivery. This position will be responsible for holding a high risk caseload, overseeing the intake and triaging escalations where relevant.

About You
The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree qualification and Registration as Health Professional – Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (preferred) in nursing, health, AHP, psychology, social work, or other relevant area (or working toward)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a health, social, or drug and alcohol service delivery environment (or other relevant area), either in a team leadership or clinical capacity
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, preferably in a health or community setting
  • Experience or demonstrated capability to lead and support team members in a health or community service environment
  • Demonstration of professional development in current and emerging practices in drug, alcohol and mental health services
  • Knowledge and understanding of challenges which may impact the mental health of Aboriginal community members including trauma and intergenerational trauma, cultural identity, homelessness and substance abuse
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships and communicate with diverse individuals at all levels
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and meet targets and objectives within a pressured environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Ability to engage and motivate staff
  • Knowledge of safe and appropriate culturally centred practices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander focused services, including employment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their ability to access adequate and quality services.

Desirable

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations

*A police check, Working with Children Check, Vaccination Certificate and current Driver Licence are required for all positions.
