  • Salary
    • AHP1 – Allied Health Professional L1 – $67,466 – $82,359
    • AHP2 – Allied Health Professional L2 – $86,950 to $100,729
  • Employment Full time – Term Contract (temporary up to 30 June 2024)

Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.  We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified AHP1/AHP2 Clinician (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist) to join the CAMHS – Guardianship Service team on a short-term contract, working in a full-time capacity.

As the CAMHS Clinician, your duties will include;

  • Implementing individual, family and/or other group therapies/interventions and other specific programs using a range of models and skills
  • Participating in the identification of mental health needs in the community and in the planning, execution and evaluation of programs to meet those needs
  • Acting as a consultant and resource person to CAMHS, other agencies and the community by providing information and education regarding child, adolescent and family mental health, specifically in the child protection context
  • This role focusses on supporting clients, CAMHS Clinicians and stakeholders provide evidence based interventions to address mental health concerns. This is through conducting triage of referrals, coordination of the Interagency Therapeutic Needs Panel, representation at Complex Case Review Committee (CAMHS) and Complex Case Review Meetings (DCP) and consultation to stakeholders supporting GOCE clients.
