About Ravenhall Correctional Centre
Ravenhall Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia, based west of Melbourne and is Victoria’s largest prison for adult sentenced and unsentenced males. It’s contemporary campus-style design provides a safe and humane environment that enables and nurtures GEO’s Continuum of Care operating philosophy.
Ravenhall also has a dedicated Forensic Mental Health Unit, a specialised Closed Supervision Unit for prisoners with significant challenging behaviours, and a small Mission Based Unit for prisoners who have never been in custody before. In recognition of the importance of Continuum of Care, Ravenhall extends its presence into the community by providing ex-prisoners with access to post-release support at GEO’s Community Reintegration Centre.
About the Opportunity
Ravenhall has the largest clinical team within a correctional centre in Victoria and provides a fantastic opportunity for Clinicians who want diversity within their role and are interested in developing and using a broad clinical knowledge base and skill-set.

As a Clinician at Ravenhall you will have an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of staff, partners and agencies in specialist communities with different cohorts of offenders including:
- Young adults
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
- Prisoners with mental health issues (including psychiatric and personality disorders and cognitive impairments)
- Prisoners with challenging behaviours
With a suite of over 25 treatment programs (including Offending Behaviour, AOD, offence related, remand programs) and opportunities for tailored and responsive individual intervention both in prison and in the community, Ravenhall’s Clinicians will be able to make a real difference in the lives of prisoners and their families.

Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in the Clinician role you will be willing to learn about the Victorian Criminal Justice System and have:
- Clinicians will be psychologists with provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA); social workers with registration with the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); occupational therapists registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, or counsellors with Level 4 registration with the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP).
- Knowledge of the “What works” literature in offender rehabilitation, in addition to the application of the Good Lives Model (GLM) and principles of Risk Need Responsivity (RNR) in reducing recidivism in offender populations.
- Demonstrated experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other best-practice therapeutic frameworks for working with offenders.
- Experience in clinical and/or risk assessments, individual and group intervention, in a correctional, clinical or other relevant setting with ability to efficiently prepare clinical formulations and reports.
