The Coach and Peer Facilitator with Carers WA is a Permanent Full-Time position. The position attracts a salary package of $82,400 p.a. plus super and salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave (with 17.5% leave loading) and two wellness days per annum.

Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting Carers across Western Australia. About the role:
The role is responsible for organising, facilitating, and promoting time limited Coaching and IPPS groups that are carer led and carer driven, both in-line with Carer Gateway Carer Coaching and In-Person Peer Support (IPPS) guidelines. The Carer Gateway is an Australian Government initiative funded by the Department of Social Services providing a mix of free online, telephone and in-person supports, services and advice, for carers in Australia. These services have been specifically designed and tested by carers to help reduce stress and build resilience in the caring role.
- In-Person Peer Support program: provides an opportunity for carers to meet and share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop networks to help support and connect with others in the carer community. The IPPS is based on four service delivery modules of: Connection, Finding Community, Making Meaning of Now and Finding Purpose.
- Carer Coaching program: one-to-one coaching sessions with carers to empower them to take steps towards making positive changes and offers a reflective space to build resilience and capacity.
Flexibility in the position is also required, balancing outreach work, group work as well as phone and digital support for carers in the community.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Experience with group facilitation skills and/or delivering information to groups of stakeholders.
- A relevant qualification (Cert IV Community Services, Diploma Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Community Services sector.
- Knowledge of “Coaching” methodology and implementation.
- Experience in the NGO and/or healthcare sectors with direct supports to clients.
- Knowledge of community care and health systems and other programs relevant to carers.
- Demonstrated understanding around working with Aboriginal, CALD and LGBTIQ individuals and communities.
- High level of competency using computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, and/or customised client databases, as well as virtual communication modes (phone, skype, Zoom).
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in a community service or health-based context.
- Willingness to work flexibly including active participation in change management.
- Current C class Drivers Licence.
- National Police Clearance issued within the last 3 months (to be provided upon employment).
