St Andrew’s Catholic College is set on a picturesque 25 ha site located in the Redlynch Valley. The College is a P-12 co-educational school of over 1,720 students. In 2023, the College will organise its P-12 setting into a two-sector model: Junior (P-6) and Senior Years (7-12). This is indeed an exciting time for the College.

About the Role
St Andrew’s Catholic College is seeking a counsellor to work collaboratively with our College Counselling team and school community with a focus on fostering the development, mental health and resilience of all students, including those considered at-risk and those with special needs.
They will provide guidance and counselling skills through direct and indirect processes and through systemic and individual interventions, thus contributing to equitable educational access, participation, and outcomes for all students but predominately working with students in upper primary and the lower secondary years.
The College Counsellor is a certified professional who works in partnership with the school by contributing specialised knowledge and skills in a collaborative, collegial manner.

Work Requirements
- Formal qualifications at Degree level are required in the disciplines of Education with a Masters of Guidance and Counselling, or a Degree in Psychology or Social Work with appropriate experience
- College Counsellors with Teaching, Psychology or Social Work registrations are required to provide evidence of
current registration with one or more of the following:- College Counsellors (Teacher) require registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and full
membership of the Queensland Guidance Counsellor Association (QGCA) or general registration with
Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) or full membership with the Australian Association of Social
Workers (AASW) - College Counsellors (Non Teacher e.g. psychologists or social workers) require general registration with
Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) or membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
(AASW).
- College Counsellors (Teacher) require registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and full
- Have highly developed interpersonal communication and relationship skills in dealing with a diverse range of students, school staff, parents, community members and professionals on an inter-agency basis
