The primary purpose of the Community Connect Program worker is to work with, and find solutions for, people and families who have accessed, or been referred to, the Nerang Neighbourhood Centre who have complex needs and are at risk.
Service Objectives: To facilitate information, referral and supports to people and families in need who have accessed, or been referred to, the Nerang Neighbourhood Centre
Key Selection Criteria:
- A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, social services or another relevant discipline; a minimum of 5 years experience in the community service sector; a minimum of 5 years experience in case management
- Showcase an understanding of all evidenced domestic and family violence models and a demonstrated ability to apply these models to work with both survivors and perpetrators of domestic & family violence.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of legislation pertinent to child protection, domestic violence, family court proceedings and international and state conventions that are intersectional with domestic & family violence.
- Exhibit a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain partnerships with government and non-government bodies to formulate robust referral pathways.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effective case management with diverse and hard to engage populations.
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency in multicultural practice particularly addressing the unique barriers of New Zealand citizens and other temporary visa holders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high demand environment whilst managing complex trauma, crisis intervention and walk in enquiries.
