The Rize Above Violence program is a newly funded primary prevention initiative. You will be joining a small team of people who are committed to ensuring the voices of those too often silenced are at the heart of the program as it is developed, delivered and evaluated. The Rize Above program core principals include a collaborative framework which is not just inclusive, but responsive to the diversity in our community. Rize Above Violence program covers four streams of primary prevention projects, these are an online respectful relationship program, an in-school respectful relationship program, a full interactive website and a youth development program.
The Community Engagement/ Therapeutic Group Worker delivers therapeutic parenting and children programs and primary prevention group programs. They will contribute towards ensuring programs are Community-Led, including working alongside the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, with a focus on young people. This role will develop group program content and online resources for the Rize Above Violence website as well as delivering manualised group programs. You will be joining a small team of people who are committed to ensuring the voices of those too often silenced are at the heart of the program. Essential Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology or counselling.
- Experience in delivering group programs to adults, young people and children
- Experience with working in the community services industry.
- A Working with Children Check is essential and employment is not able to commence without a current clearance.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in developing therapeutic group programs
- Training in manualized group programs such as Circle of Security and Bringing Up Great Kids.
