About the role
Full time fixed term contract for 12 months with the view to move to permanency thereafter. Based in our Adelaide office at Glenside. Reporting directly to the National Manager Dementia-Friendly Communities, you will be responsible for:
- Building collaborative relationships with people living with dementia, carers and former carers involved in the Dementia-Friendly Communities program.
- Conducting participant screening and onboarding into the Dementia Friends (DF) Host program.
- Coordinating Community Engagement Program (CEP) expression of interest, application review and assessment processes.
- Ensuring on-going monitoring and support of DF hosts and CEP grant recipients.
- Establishing mechanisms to enable peer-to-peer information exchange for DF Hosts and CEP recipients.
- Regularly reviewing DF Host and CEP administrative processes, resources and guidance materials to maintain and improve participant experience.
- Promoting an understanding of the principles and practice of community development with staff and DFC program participants.
- Documenting and reporting all aspects of service delivery according to specified procedures.
- Participating in and contributing to service evaluations, planning, development and innovation.

About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
- A relevant qualification in a community development-related field and/or significant experience working with volunteers in the delivery of community-based initiatives.
- Ability to engage and work in partnership with people living with dementia, and their carers, community groups and organisations
- Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of dementia for individuals, carers and their support networks at an individual and community level or the capacity to develop that knowledge base and understanding
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills, including the use of active listening, unconditional regard and reflective questioning
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications (specifically MS Teams) and skills in data entry
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
