ABOUT THE ROLE:
Mercy Mental Health has an amazing opportunity for new graduates/junior PENs, RNs, SWs and OTs contemplating a career in Mental Health. Community Mental Health Engagement Workers are a new initiative of the Department of Health and Human Services. They provide a new pathway into a mental health career. As CMHEW you will be part of a recovery focused multi-disciplinary clinical team, working with people who experience mental health issues and associated difficulties. Position will be based at our Wyndham Clinic in Hoppers Crossing.
The roles:
- Full-time, Fixed Term (18 months)
- Assist consumers and their families and carers to navigate our mental health service and external services
- Provide logistical assistance to mental health clinicians to free them up to undertake additional therapeutic work
ABOUT YOU:
- Registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse; or
- Have an approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Seeking enthusiastic candidates who are willing to learn and who can contribute to the development of these new roles

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
