Community Mental Health Worker Skylight Mental Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

Skylight is recruiting a Community Mental Health Worker to work within our Carer program.  The Community Mental Health Worker will work closely with participants to promote recovery, inspire hope and facilitate a process wherein participants can work toward their goals. 

The program provide short term 1:1 support. The Community Mental Health Worker may support participants to: 

  • Identify their strengths
  • Build resilience
  • Achieve goals
  • Link in with people to help improve their wellbeing
  • Connect with family or with community
  • Explore accessing the NDIS or DSP
  • Enjoy a full and vibrant quality of life.

 Requirements for Success

  • Qualifications or experience relevant to mental health 
  • Sound knowledge and awareness of mental health challenges 
  • Capacity to work both autonomously and within teams 
  • Experience with person centred  and recovery oriented frameworks
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs and relevant software
  • DHS Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Check
  • Must have full schedule of COVID vaccinations, as mandated by the South Australian Government
  • Understanding of NDIS application process desirable 

This role is classified at SACS Level 4, 0.6 – 0.8 fte and a Maximum Term Contract until June 2023. The role will be based at Skylight Elizabeth, servicing multiple areas of the South Australian metropolitan region.
