We’re looking for Mental Health Support Stars for casual positions with a view to go permanent who have experience supporting people with complex and challenging behaviours, are keen to be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary therapy team, who are patient, compassionate and have a smile on their face. People who want to make a difference in the life of others, encouraging client rehabilitation and social integration within their local community.

The ideal Support worker will be seeking stable and consistent work, happy to work with a flexible availability to achieve 30+ hours/week for a range of shift times (Including overnight shifts).

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health
  • National Criminal History Record Check
  • NDIS Workers Check or willing to obtain
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Manual Handling
  • CSE preferred but not essential
  • MAPA preferred but not essential
  • Covid19 Vaccination x3
  • Certificate in Administer and Monitor Medications in the workplace, preferred but not essential.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Providing timely and accurate case notes
  • Develop professional relationships with individuals, their families and others in the community
  • Manage challenging behaviours should this arise
  • Provide support to work towards individual goals
  • Assist and monitor medications
  • Support the development of daily living skills and capacity for self-care
