  • Hourly rates (including casual loading & penalty rates): $49.88ph (Mon-Fri), $69.83ph (Sat), $89.78ph (Sun) + 11% super


About the role:

The CCS Contact Worker will provide contact service duties with clients of the CCS, with the overall objective of providing children with the opportunity to re-establish or maintain a meaningful relationship with both parents and/or significant persons in their lives, in a safe and relaxed environment.

Interrelate’s Children’s Contact Service (CCS) offers a child-focused place for children and their families to spend time together. It provides a safe, neutral and flexible service for parents, children and their families and supports children connect and build positive relationships with family members who they do not live with, or connect with, outside of our service. It is a place for parents to engage in safe and friendly change-over / change-back arrangements, as well as supervised contact in a relaxed family environment.

Key duties for this role include:

  • Supervise children’s contact and facilitate changeover of children between parents whilst maintaining focus on the safety and well-being of the children
  • Support and provide encouragement to families to engage in positive family connection and experiences
  • Model positive parenting behaviours
  • Complete well documented case notes of family connections
  • Facilitate the promotion of Interrelate’s Services within the community
  • Be well-informed about other relevant and appropriate community services in the area to facilitate effective referrals
  • Adhere to appropriate work practices to protect the confidentiality of clients
  • Participate in program and service evaluations

This position will be Casual and will require availability to work across weekdays, weekends and some evenings until 8pm, particularly Thurs – Sat. This position will provide supervised centre-based services at our Fairfield centre and will also provide community-based services within the local region to facilitate supervised community contact and changeovers.

Key role requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in counselling, community services or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience working with families and children experiencing separation and family breakdown and high levels of family conflict
  • Demonstrated experience working in one or more areas of clinical work, e.g. counselling, dispute resolution, relationship education, children’s services, men’s programs, family law, etc.
  • Knowledge of child development, child protection, and family violence issues
  • Demonstrated skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of children
  • Willing to be available to work across weekdays, weekends, some evenings and flexibility within working hours
  • A current Apply First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate, or willingness to attain one within the first three months of employment
