Contractor Role – Psychologist/Mental Health Social Worker – Remote Canteen

Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member’s cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. Canteen’s success is built on the capability and motivation of its people. We are now seeking a psychologist or mental health accredited social worker to join our team where you will provide psychological support to young people and families as part of our in house private psychology practice. This is a high-impact role for a qualified psychologist or mental health social worker with a natural ability to connect and support.

About our role

  • Provision psychological support under the Medicare Better Access Scheme
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team alongside Canteen team members to support young people and parents meet their treatment goals.
  • Telehealth based, with the ability to work from Canteen offices on occasion
  • 85% attendance rate with an engaged and therapy ready clients

About You

  • Medicare provider number, or ability to obtain one
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • ABN
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist, Health and Developmental Psychologists, or accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the clinical setting using a number of evidence-based interventions (CBT, IPT, ACT, EMDR, Narrative etc)
  • Experience with working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in working with young people, in allied health settings, bereavement settings and/or psycho-oncology settings
  • Outstanding communication skills and a natural ability to connect
  • A compassionate values-based approach

Location: Remote- telehealth based

Job Type: Contract

Hours and Days of Work: Flexible hours chosen by you, open to afternoon, evenings and Saturday work.
