Fixed Term (three years)

Full time

Remuneration Package: $119,366 per annum (inclusive of superannuation)

This role provides an opportunity to join a progressive and innovative Community Development team responsible for developing and strengthening community connection and increasing awareness of matters related to community safety and support services. The team has a portfolio that is focussed on community safety and crime prevention, CCTV, mental health, suicide prevention, community transport, social isolation, homelessness, domestic and family violence, safety rebates and community education.

In this role you will provide strategic leadership, guidance and support to the Community Safety and Support Services team to cultivate an innovative strong capacity building ethos, both within your team and with internal and external stakeholders.

Highly motivated, you will be agile and will empower your team to plan, implement and evaluate relevant projects and programs, engaging local organisations and volunteers to deliver sustainable outcomes to and with the community.

 

To be considered for this role, you must address the following four selection criteria in your online application:

  1. High level of effective leadership skills with demonstrated experience coordinating small multi-disciplinary teams.
  2. Well-developed knowledge of contemporary community development, community engagement and community capacity building theory, principles and practices, particularly in the areas Community Safety, Community Transport, Community Support Services
  3. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including, research and analysis, report writing, strategy development/review, contract and grant management
  4. Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative internal and external strategic and community partnerships

 

This position offers a gross salary of $97,537 per annum with access to a pool vehicle as per City policy.  In addition we offer:

  • 11% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute
  • A variety of health and wellbeing programs including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $150 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services
