Working in the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia comes with a range of great experiences and challenges beyond what you might experience elsewhere.  You will gain career changing skills and experience and nurture relationships with local communities while embracing the unexpected, as every day will be different.

The Kimberley Family Relationships Centre offers a range of programs that aim to assist separated parents and their children to transition to a new family situation.  We provide services to strengthen family relationships where separation is being considered, as well as a person centred, trauma informed service to families who have separated.  Services span relationships, parenting arrangements and property mediation.

As the Coordinator Family Law Services, you will lead and inspire our family law services team based across the Kimberley region.  As a skilled Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will provide clinical supervision to staff to support them to grow and develop their practice.  You will hold a small case load of complex clients to ensure you continue to develop your own practice.  You will have oversight and responsibility for the quality of service we provide, will proactively respond to client complaints and will appropriately respond to and manage risk.

You will have a commitment to staying abreast of professional trends in family dispute resolution and therapeutic interventions and will be an active contributor to the development and review of policies, procedures and the continuous improvement of our service.

You will draw on your interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships within the organisation and externally with stakeholders and the community.  You will be experienced and passionate about the provision of a service that is culturally appropriate and holds the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people central in all we do.  You will embrace a child safety culture, ensuring safe environments where children and young people are respected, valued and protected from abuse and harm.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) leadership opportunity based in Broome Western Australia.

  • Knowledge and application of current theory and practice in relation to Family Law matters with individuals, families and children
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
