JOB DESCRIPTION

Working alongside the Family Support Services and Kinship Care Manager provide tailored support to families, as well as  the family-finding phase of Kinship Care. This position is focussed on program implementation and capacity building of staff delivering FSS and Kinship Care services. There is a requirement for you to provide case management and parenting support.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 

  1. A degree in Social Service/Social Science or equivalent with substantial experience in the area.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills report writing, case note writing.
  3. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  4. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of interventions to vulnerable families.
  5. Skilled in the delivery of training, professional development and mentoring to all levels in an organisation.
  6. Proven administration skills including the ability to analyse and interpret service related data, complete administrative and document preparation in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  7. The ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy. 
  8. High level computer literacy and familiarity with various software programs.
  9. Experience applying community development and social justice principles in your work practice.
  10. Experience forming collaborative partnerships and working across sectors to achieve program outcomes.
  11. Demonstrated knowledge of Community Controlled Aboriginal Organisations .
  12. Working with Children’s Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  13. Current National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one. 
  14. Current NT Drivers’ licence or ability to obtain one within three months.
  15. This position is classified as a mandatory worker position for the purpose of COVID-19 vaccines and directions issued by the NT Chief Health Officer (CHO).
