As a Coordinator, Foster & Kinship Care, you will play a vital role in overseeing our Foster & Kinship care program, guiding and supporting our team of Practitioners to ensure the highest level of care and service delivery.
We are seeking a permanent full-time dynamic and experienced Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing service delivery, providing guidance and supervision to our Practitioners. You will be instrumental in recruiting, training, and supporting the team, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and Department of Child Safety standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of child protection practices, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.
About you:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks, including the Child Protection Act (1999) and other relevant legislation.
- Well-developed practice framework that is culturally sensitive, taking into account diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Proficient in managing and providing effective team leadership and reflective supervision to Practitioners.
- Demonstrated experience as a Child Protection Practitioner, preferably in an out-of-home care context.
- Proven ability to handle crisis situations appropriately, with highly developed problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with the Department of Child Safety), as well as other relevant programs, to enhance support for children and carers.
- Strong teamwork skills, with a track record of successful collaboration in a team environment.
- Capability to advocate for children and carers, representing the organisation at stakeholder forums.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Desired: Relevant experience within a community service or similar organization.
- Desired: Understanding of quality management and continuous improvement processes, including familiarity with the Human Service Quality Standards.
- A valid Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Ability to qualify for a Licensed Care Service (LCS) clearance through personal history checks
- A current Queensland Driver License
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desired)
- Current COVID-19 vaccination certificate
