Coordinator – Youth Walking Together Program

The Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (KWCC) is passionate and focused, working to support and maximise the safety of women and their children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence in the greater Katherine region.The Walking Together Program is a new program which is working with youth

 

ABOUT YOU

As the Walking Together Program Coordinator, you will be required to lead and supervise a team of Outreach Workers whose role it is to provide information, education, advocacy, referral and case management support to young people aged 13 to 24 years who are experiencing and/or witnessing Domestic/Family violence.  You will oversee and manage the physical resources associated with the Walking Together Program to ensure operational requirements and coverage is maintained.

 

You will need to be holistic, flexible and have a depth of cultural understanding and sound knowledge of domestic/family violence for the required case management.

Effective communication skills are paramount as you engage extensively with other support services and community organisations.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

 

  1. Experience as a Coordinator of a Program
  2. A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Social Science; Human Resources or a related field.or relevant experience.
  3. Minimum 2 years experience working in a Community Service setting and ability to provide effective Crisis Intervention and Case Management. 
  4. Previous experience supervising and leading a team.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and proven ability to apply trauma informed practice frameworks for interventions to clients and their children affected by Domestic and Family Violence.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of Domestic, Family & sexual Violence.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education of self and others. 
  8. Proven knowledge of cultural and cross-cultural issues affecting people accessing services and the ability to apply this knowledge when working with clients and their families;
  9. To have current and satisfactory:
    1. Criminal History Check
    2. Ochre card – Working with Children Clearance
    3. Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements – Mandatory Reporting of DV/ Child protection
    4. Current Drivers Licence
