About the Role:

We’re actively searching for a qualified counselling therapist with experience to join us in a contractual role, offering weekend on-call phone support and welfare-checks for some of our clients. As a member of our online team, you’ll play a pivotal role in proactively supporting the mental health and overall well-being of our clients.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting 12 to 24 clients by conducting brief, scheduled welfare-checks lasting 10-15 minutes. These checks are designed to assess their mental, emotional, and physical well-being, and if needed to assist with task breakdowns, such as creating to-do lists. These check-ins offer a tremendous sense of security to our clients, knowing that someone is there to for them. It provides peace of mind, reassurance that support can be accessed if they’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed, and that immediate medical assistance can be summoned in case of an emergency.

 Responsibilities:

  • Routine Welfare Checks: Performing regular welfare checks during the weekend to assess clients’ mental and physical well-being through phone calls and text messages.
  • On-Call Assistance: Being available for clients who may call the clinic during the weekend, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Online Platform Collaboration: Collaborating with our online platforms to ensure well-organised scheduling of calls, effective information relay, and offering clients help sheets from our extensive library of resources.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma, anxiety and psychosocial therapy to provide the most effective support to our clients.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining precise and confidential client records while strictly adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards in the field 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant counselling qualification and registration with a recognised governing body. 
  • Compassionate and caring individual dedicated to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
  • Great over the phone communication skills,
  • Previous experience in trauma & anxiety therapy or a related field.
  • Ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships and work effectively with diverse clients.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to manage and priorities effectively.
  • Proactive and quick-thinking, capable of adapting to different client needs and situations.
