We are seeking an experienced Social Worker/Counsellor to join the Primary Care Team working as The Counselling and Wellbeing Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary team – to deliver counselling to complex consumers in the Wimmera region of Regional Victoria. You will work closely with General Practitioners, other allied health, and Nursing staff to provide a high quality service within the Community and across, Acute hospital wards, as well as Residential Aged Care Facilities.
This is a fulltime position (Monday to Friday) for a 12 week locum period.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through relevant assessment, recovery focused case management, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
- Provision of evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems.
- Provide a friendly and therapeutic space for families and carers.
- Improve quality of care and patient outcomes by providing rapid streaming to acute specialised psychiatric assessment, observation and treatment resources.
- Support the implementation of evidence-based practice
- Provide appropriate community based mental health supports and other services
About You
- Completed Degree in Social Work, Counselling or Nursing
- Current registration with AASW, ACA, PACFA or AHPRA
- Proven experience in the delivery of mental health, counselling and wellbeing services in a community, acute or residential care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver education to consumers, families and staff.
- Experience in the review and development of counselling and wellbeing services to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of services in line with evidence-based practice.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Competent Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
- Evidence of recent annual influenza immunisation, willingness to obtain or evidence of valid medical exemption.
- Evidence of full immunisation against COVID-19 or evidence of valid medical exemption
Salary
- Casual Rates of $60 p/h + Super + Low Subsidised accommodation for locum period + travel allowance re-imbursed after commcement.
