About the role
The Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA) is looking for an enthusiastic Social Worker to join their team. Ballarat CASA provides counselling and support to people across the Central Highlands region who have experienced sexual assault, and their supporting family members and friends. Ballarat CASA also provides treatment to children and young people under the age of 18 years who have engaged in problem sexual behaviours or sexually abusive behaviours. - Intake and psychosocial assessment
- Counselling and Advocacy
- Crisis Intervention and participation in the after hours roster
- Community Education and groupwork
Skills and experience
We are seeking someone with:
- A sound knowledge of, and experience in, undertaking psychosocial and risk assessments with a trauma focus
- Well developed communication and information technology skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and the broader service system in pursuit of client needs and outcomes
- Experience in working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family violence will be highly regarded
Appointment is subject to a satisfactory immunisation clearance, Working with Children’s Check and a satisfactory current police record check.
