ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated clinician, who wishes to work in an innovative residential program working with patients across Group Therapy and carrying an individual case load. You will be an engaged and pro-active thinker who brings your unique abilities to work in our programs. At Malvern Private we work as a strong multi-disciplinary team connecting psychiatry, addiction specialists, and medical specialist, nursing both general and mental health trained with a diversely skilled counselling team, to ensure a clear focus on positive outcomes for our clients.
You will be engaged with clients in helping them to understand their developmental emotional dynamics and trauma, whilst maintaining a structured recovery focused management plan. This role will support the Malvern Model of Care – ensuring service to our clients with a humanistic approach, whilst maintaining safe, friendly and clear communication amongst the community and the team to deliver therapeutic care.
We are looking for both Casual and Permanent Part Time clinicians for both our inpatient and outpatient programs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A tertiary qualification in counselling/psychology or Social Work and holds registration with AHPRA/PACFA/ASSW. Post-graduate qualifications would be highly regarded.
- Skills and experience that shows respect, understanding and leadership both with client interactions and teamwork.
- Experience with developmental models of psychopathology which inform your formulation and treatment of clients.
- Experience having worked with traumatised individuals.
- Able to manage a caseload of clients for 1:1 intervention, deliver group therapy and able to design and deliver topic groups.
- Experience with evidence-based approaches such as Mindfulness, Anxiety Reduction or other techniques is strongly desired.
- Strong verbal, written and communication skills to safely manage and plan for our vulnerable clients.
- Working knowledge of the NSQHS and National Mental Health Standards as well as knowledge of legislative requirements and practice standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external professionals.
- Able to work a weekend shift.
