About the Roles

We are looking for energetic and dynamic Counsellor who is solution based, focused on providing our residents with help and support as they undertake their recovery program.

We are looking for individuals who have experience in AOD and Mental Health in a part-time or full time capacity working within a minimum of 15 hours per week and/or up to 38 hours per week Mondays to Fridays with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This role would be located in Woodend, and you would be expected to be able to travel to this location.

The key responsibilities of the Councellor position include:

  • Counselling patients/residents within AOD and Mental Health
  • Screening, assessment and management in an AOD context
  • Assess and manage clinical client care needs within 30, 60 or 90 day recovery
  • Provide support and education to patients/residents on AOD/recovery to help them deal with difficulties and overcome dependencies
  • Provide recommendations for appropriate treatments/interventions to the clinical team
  • Upkeep clinical notes and patient documentation in line with accreditation requirements
  • Support general program delivery and psychiatric medical practitioners

 

About You

  • Registered with the relevant professional Board within the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions in place or AASW registration
  • Relevant qualifications recognised for the counselling role 
  • Knowledge of AOD principles and practice
  • Current and valid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Hold a valid National Police/Criminal History Check or willing to obtain one
  • Complete an Immunisation Health Check and provide documentation
  • Knowledge and experience of effective case management standards and practice 
  • Problem solving skills with the understanding of how to identify problems and overcome them
