Counsellor Back to Nature Ecotherapy

JOB DESCRIPTION

Nature-based Counsellor

Back to Nature Ecotherapy is a unique therapy practice providing nature-based therapy in Perth and surrounding regions. We are seeking qualified counsellors with a strong personal connection to the natural environment.

We began as a service to help adult men to engage in counselling. We are now a growing team of therapists supporting men, women and youth to become more connected to themselves through therapy and nature.

As a counsellor at Back to Nature Ecotherapy you will be required to:

  • Connect with new client referrals to establish an ongoing working relationship.
  • Work autonomously with your client outside in the natural environment (park, lake, river, bushland, beach, hills etc) for on average a 2.5-hour counselling & ecotherapy session.
  • Apply your counselling skills to support your clients in obtaining their goals.
  • Work successfully with clients living with disability; presenting with a broad range of issues and challenges.
  • Maintain therapy notes and work with your supervisor to ensure your ongoing self-care, professional development and client service standards.

You must hold (or obtain prior to starting) the following:

  1. An established strong personal connection to nature.
  2. A counselling or psychotherapy qualification.
  3. Membership with the Australian Counselling Association or an accredited Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
  4. A NDIS Worker Screening Check

In this unique nature-based role, you will:

  • Have your choice of a casual or a sub-contractor position.
  • Control your own schedule (your work days, full or part time hours, holidays).
  • Be conducting your sessions out in nature, often employing a nature-based activity of your choice as part of the therapy session.
  • Be paid generously and supported to develop a long-term client base over time.
  • Require a valid driver’s licence and a reliable insured vehicle.

To apply please provide a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability to [email protected]

If you have any questions, please call Aidan Casey 0407 423 655
