About the role
If you are a Counsellor that is looking to join a welcoming and collaborative team to undertake highly stimulating and rewarding work, we would love to hear from you!
We are a growing and dynamic organisation that supports people to embrace life after brain injury. We seek to fill this role with someone who relishes working as part of an interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals, has ideas to share, and who enjoys working with a diverse client base.
We work with people living with various types of brain injuries and other neurological conditions – road trauma, sporting accidents, stroke, tumours, disease etc. and as well as their family members. We provide services under a variety of funding streams.
As Counsellor, you will provide counselling services to individuals with ABI and their families. There will also be opportunities to run group sessions if this of interest to you.
Duties include:
- The delivery of counselling services to individuals and groups
- Maintaining high level service standards and currency of practice in supporting people with ABI and their families
- Developing therapy interventions to address unmet need
Skills and experience
Previous experience working with people with ABI is desirable but not essential. We recognise the demands of the role benefit from the experience you will bring to it, but would be prepared to consider less than 2 years experience working as a counsellor for the right individual. Regular support and supervision is available, alongside professional development opportunities in line with areas of interest, service need and your professional development plan. In-house specialist training is also available monthly.

The Counsellor could be primarily based at either of our three hub locations: Adelaide CBD, Noarlunga Centre,or Elizabeth. The position does require some flexibility to work across multiple locations, with an agreed main base at any time.
