Counsellor – BreastScreen Tasmania Department of Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role:

  • Provide telephone and face-to-face counselling, support and advice to clients of screening and assessment services.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, quality and consistency of electronic records regarding client counselling.
  • Deliver counselling services to a high level of proficiency in a population screening environment.
  • Ensure clinical and psychosocial information flows to general practitioners and other relevant clinical personnel providing care for BreastScreen Tasmania clients and clients of interstate BreastScreen services.
  • Liaise with other clinical, nursing and Allied Health Professional staff within the multidisciplinary team.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 October 2025

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location: South

Salary: $103,608 to $119,430 per annum + 11% superannuation 

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $111,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association is highly desirable.
